Island Line train services between Ryde and Shanklin are suspended today due to a problem currently under investigation.
No trains are currently running between Ryde Pier Head and Shanklin as the line has been completely closed for engineering works.
Disruption is expected until at least the end of the day. In the meantime, a rail replacement bus service is in operation.
Many rail enthusiasts are hoping to see the former London underground trains operating ahead of the 3-month closure of Island Line from 4th January. Major works will take place in January, February and March ahead of the introduction of the new Class 484 trains.

might as well just call it a day now and be done with it. Where else in the world does it require a three month loss of service just to replace some trains.
