Around 300 fans attended Island Fight League 3 for an action-packed evening of live combat sports at GG’s Bar & Restaurant last Saturday (18th May). Promoters Emily Tymon, Kalon Tymon and Connor Tymon held their 3rd mixed martial arts event within 11 months, after being shortlisted for the Isle of Wight Radio Best in Business, for Top Event of the Year. IFL 3 saw bouts in MMA, Muay Thai, K1 and Submission-Only Grappling, including 1 Championship MMA bout. UFC fighter John Hathaway was in attendance to corner his fighter Danny Baeza during his heavyweight MMA bout. Bellator fighter Andy Manzolo was there cornering his fighter Daniel Aluko in his K1 match. With the best teams and athletes in the business attending this event, you knew you were in for some brilliant performances. Corey Kent of Brotherhood MMA competed in a Submission-Only Grappling match against Shaun Gould of City Fresh Grappling. No submissions within the 6 minute match meant that it ended in a draw. Ryan Marshall also of Brotherhood MMA stepped into the cage for the 2nd time, this time to face Dylan Parker of Juggernaut Muay Thai in a junior K1 bout. An incredible performance on both parts and a really fast paced fight. Again the judges declared this a draw, with both young fighters getting their hands raised. 
The main event of the evening was the Championship Featherweight MMA bout. Jack Stickler of Gym01 touched gloves with Cole Marr of Olympians MMA ahead of a 5-round MMA bout. In round 3, Stickler took the win via armbar, filling the vacant spot of the Island Fight League Featherweight Champion. Combat sports fans should keep an eye on Island Fight League’s social media pages for an announcement for the date of IFL 4.
