Temperatures are expected to reach up to 30c on the Isle of Wight by the end of the week, according to IW Met Service.
Forecasters say that a surge of hot air from Spain will move northwards bringing a short period of very hot weather to our shores.
Thursday and Friday will see temperatures reaching the high 20s across central and northern parts of the Island, with some areas potentially reaching 30c on Friday.
Thunderstorms are possible on Friday night ahead of a cooler and more unsettled weekend.
For those who are searching for a bit of heat and a good day for a BBQ, it certainly looks as though Thursday and Friday will deliver – so make the most of it!

Cue people screaming about “Global warming” in 3..
2..
1…
Must be global warming! Ha ha!
Well it’s been like winter for a while now, so some warmer temperatures would at least make it seem more like summer.
Together we can stop this heatwave, please stop using your cars, buy local, don’t eat meat,be gender neutral and WEAR A MASK because Wight Lives Matter
More crowded beaches, spreading CV, more jet ski’s chasing Dolphins, more glass and rubbish left on beaches, more crowded roads, and more income for councillors with beachside businesses, soon be able to afford to pay staff on the books.
More beach rescues of dimbo’s drifting out into the sea, more dogs falling from cliffs, more chavs, starting fires, more bbq’s left in bins, more shouting and screaming and dope smoking yobs, drunk in gardens on estates.
Roll on Winter
A lot of that still all goes on in the winter, sad to say.
The real worry is NOT the temperature for one day, but the fact that temperatures are still rising. Global warming will cause ever more to come from hot climates to overcrowd our Country.
Eskimos will drown if the ice all melts, so we will get them as well.
Great more immigrants coming to this country!
Have not noticed the temperature excessive this year , this time last year was the hotest day on record this year its bloudy cold , its been a miserable year for weather so far
Where are you then? Been superb on the IOW
It blooming well wasn’t on Saturday! Not good today either. Now if youre talking about April and May, that was a bit different.
Sheila, WAS it just ‘coincidence’ that April and May saw China and much of the world’s factories shut, and Airplanes hardly ever flying.
So maybe pollution, IS the reason, why our weather is grim, but was nice then, could be the jet stream is higher without the pollution from the world.
We need another global lockdown to ‘test’ the theory
I don’t know about ‘superb’. It’s been up and down for months now, warm one week, cold the next. It seems we had summer way back in April and especially in May, it was lovely then, but since lockdown eased it’s been back to dreary and miserable, not to mention beautiful wild flowers have been cut back to oblivion where they were growing and looking so lovely before.
Climate ‘change’, is what we are seeing. We have dropped ‘global warming’ now as a title, BUT temperatures ARE increasing overall.
The disputable question is whether it is all, anything, or not at all due to mankind.
The Earth has had many changes of temperature and weather long before mankind was here.
BUT Politicians, pop stars, and nutters, can ‘use’ blaming mankind for such for ‘political’, ‘cash’ and ‘being noticed’ reasons.
I dont know for sure, but I doubt ‘we’ have much to do with the change, but I do know, ‘we’ will be made to pay for such in green environmental taxes etc.
Problem is, now, any ‘corrupt’ polices are hidden under ‘green’ or ‘race’ agendas to get what MP’s and Governments really want, WHILST still making them ‘look’ caring for others and the planet, when often, they are anything but caring, except for themselves, hence the difficulty of ‘seeing’ the true picture.
Ah so you must live in Upper Ventnor. Get out of the fog, there is daylight and even sun sometimes elsewhere on Wight.
Just prepare yourself for a bit of a shock, the rest of the Island has FIVE fingers and toes on each limb.
‘Think you mean Wroxall!
Bet you didn’t know that most of the Arctic ice melts each summer and it has no impact on sea levels, also the ice that is floating over the pole itself wouldn’t impact anywhere if it melted as its already displacing water by floating. Remember water expands a lot as it freezes.
