Over £500,000 has been has been raised by Walk the Wight 2025 for Mountbatten Isle of Wight, it has been revealed.
At a special celebration event at the hospice earlier today (Wednesday), the impressive current fundraising total was announced as £515,000.
This ginormous achievement is expected to grow even further, as final sponsorship and donations roll in.
Walk the Wight organiser, Ashleigh Gibbs, says:
“This is an incredible achievement by thousands of amazing supporters.
“Thank you for taking part, thank you for donating and thank you for making Walk the Wight 2025 such a huge success.”
The annual iconic fundraiser, which is celebrating its 35th anniversary, took place on 11th May.
This year, around 9,000 people walked 1 of 4 routes, trekking up to 26 miles across the Island’s beautiful countryside. People also took part virtually and walked the Wight their own way, including through rehab programmes in Mountbatten Isle of Wight’s gym.
Pre-registration has now opened for next year’s Walk the Wight, which will be on Sunday 10th May 2026.

At today’s celebration, music was provided by the Mountbatten Isle of Wight Community Choir, who sang ‘Walk the Wight With You’ (which was penned by Mountbatten music ambassador, Mike Christie, from G4). Attendees included long-term fundraisers and volunteers.
