A technical issue with Hovertravel’s Island Flyer craft has led to the suspension of the service – just as workers and schoolchildren head home at the end of the day.
With just 1 craft available for service, the issue arising has left the cross-Solent operator with no choice but to halt services to and from Ryde.
Earlier today a problem with the ramp was experienced, but it is unclear if this problem has reoccurred or whether a new issue has been discovered.
It’s understood the second craft in the fleet, Solent Flyer, is heading to Griffon Hoverwork tomorrow morning.
The next update is expected at 18:15.
UPDATE – Services have now resumed as of 19:30 from Ryde.
It’s becoming a joke lately, time for a Bridge or Tunnel.
No wonder they are in financial straits, must be paying Wightlink all their profits and more.
These newer craft have been diabolical from day one and whoever decided on two craft clearly did not understand the engineering and physical demands.
Time to bring back Idun Viking and 007!!!
