UPDATED: HOVERS OFF AS YET MORE ADVERSE WEATHER HITS

Cross-Solent operator Hovertravel has suspended its service this morning (Wednesday) due to adverse weather conditions.  Strong winds, mixed in with the rain and tidal conditions, means it’s unsafe to operate between Ryde and Southsea. Tickets are being accepted on Wightlink’s Fastcat service between Ryde Pier Head and Portsmouth Harbour. An update is expected at 09:45, but there is no guarantee services will resume at that time. All other cross-Solent services are running to timetable. UPDATE @ 13:50 – Services will resume at 14:15 from Ryde and 14:30 from Southsea
