7 young gymnasts from Legacy Elite Gymnastics Academy made history at the weekend, as they qualified for the National Finals.
The talented group – Ellie, Daisy, Iommi, Paisley, Emma, Eden and Holly – are representing the South Region at the prestigious competition, marking a major milestone for gymnastics on the Isle of Wight.
All seven gymnasts currently rank in the top 6 across the entire South Region, securing their place in the finals and raising the profile of the community-based Legacy Elite club.
The achievement is being celebrated, with no previous community club gymnasts from the Isle of Wight ever reaching this level of national competition.
A spokesperson for the club said:
“Something we never thought would happen, but it’s happened to us. This is an achievement to be incredibly proud of.”
The club has wished the girls the best of luck as they compete and encouraged them to enjoy the experience and give it their all.
