A yellow weather warning for heavy rain – accompanied by winds of up to 50mph – has been issued for the Isle of Wight tomorrow (Wednesday).
Forecasters at IW Met Service say that a large area of rain will push in from the South during Wednesday afternoon.
Rainfall totals will vary from just 8-10mm in some areas, but as high as 20-25mm locally, falling in a rather short space of time. This will be accompanied by some very strong and gusty winds of 40-50mph from the Southeast but turning into the Southwest during the evening.
Islanders should be aware of localised flash flooding, with surface water and spray causing hazardous driving conditions.
The warning is in force from midday until 20:00 on Wednesday 18th October.
