Letter to the editor – Monday 19th October 2026
“Dear Editor,
“In recent years, I have had the dubious honour of visiting St Mary’s Hospital more frequently than I would like, most recently during my wife’s 12-day stay.
“Yet again, I witnessed first-hand the exceptional care provided by staff across the service.
“From the ambulance team who first responded, to A&E reception and the many clinicians involved on arrival, through to her time on the stroke ward, every interaction was marked by courtesy, kindness and professionalism.
“At all times, staff offered thoughtful and coordinated support that made a difficult period feel manageable.
“Their obvious dedication to the wellbeing of patients and families is outstanding.
“We are deeply grateful for the care she received at the time, as well as the ongoing support now being provided elsewhere.”
