An angler in his 60s who feared he was having a heart attack whilst walking along the beach near Thorness sparked a multi-agency emergency response this afternoon (Thursday).
The gentleman sought help when experiencing chest pains as he walked along the coastline between Gurnard and Thorness.
HM Coastguard sent Coastguard Rescue Officers from Ventnor and The Needles, alongside Cowes RNLI lifeboat.
The lifeboat, which launched at 12:30, took the patient to Trinity Landing in Cowes where an ambulance was waiting to convey him to St Marys Hospital for a check-up.
