A drive out is being held this coming Sunday in memory of Islander Harvey Callieu, who has died aged just 21. Harvey, who had no underlying health issues or major medical history, passed away on 11th May after being suddenly taken ill and rushed to Southampton General Hospital. He sadly suffered brain damage as a result of an extreme build-up of pressure in his head. An honorary drive in tribute to petrolhead Harvey, who worked as an exterior cleaner, has been organised for Sunday (2nd June). It will be led by his wife, Kennedy, in his favourite car – an Abarth 124. Encompassing some of his favourite roads, the drive out will set off from Blackgang car park at 17:00 (meet from 16:30). It will head through Chale, Kingston and Shorwell to Carisbrooke. Then, heading West along Middle Road, the drive will turn along Broad Lane to Thorley, Wilmingham Lane to Afton and then Military Road back to Blackgang. Refreshments will be provided, such as hot dogs and drinks, upon return to Blackgang. All are welcome to enjoy this with family and friends. Harvey’s wife, Kennedy, has said:
“Harvey was always full of life! He was such a genuine, kind, caring and generous man with an incredible personality that would just light up a room. “He had an absolute love for cars and basically anything with an engine. Even though a funeral is necessary and we will be having one, we thought it would be more fitting to Harvey’s personality to do an honorary drive in tribute to him. “We would love for his family, friends (new and old), anyone who knew him or anyone from the Isle of Wight community to join in the celebration of his life and support for a young life that’s been lost”.
It is asked that anyone taking part in the drive does so in a respectful, slow-paced manner with no overtaking.

Tragic loss of life at such a young age with no previous underlying health problems.
Too many people are getting that lately, should be a medical investigation into the causes.
Hopefully the driving goes well
Since 2021 so many sudden deaths
So sad
R.I.P
You utter cretins. Have some bloody respect. Leave your insane conspiracy theories else where. Majority of the young did not have the jab. Editor please remove these two disrespectful comments from this story.
Many youngsters took the jabs so they could travel.
Fred you need to Google vaccine deaths, you will be shocked.
So many people have no idea.
So many young lives are being lost suddenly.
I am not a conspiracy theorist. I just want people to wake up
to what’s been happening.
Please refrain from talking about Harvey as you have no idea
What the causes was or if he took a vaccine or not
Show your respect and
That’s it
No one wants your opinion here
He’s 21!
The vaccine theory is all blood clot related, this lad died from a brain injury – maybe a tumor? Lack of oxygen? It’s not even confirmed if he had the vaccine.
get your head out of the “oooh so many excess deaths has to be the vaccine” way and focus on this, a lad has died at a young age, full stop. Respect is free
How sad for the wife, family and friends. A nice tribute to him. RiP
