The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance has been requested to attend a medical emergency at Newbridge near Calbourne this afternoon (Thursday).
Ambulance crews from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service are on scene in the village having responded out of Newport at around 14:50.
The yellow and green air ambulance, based in Andover, has just touched down in a field near Clay Lane.
UPDATE @ 15:54 – The casualty has been packaged and transferred to the air ambulance for onward conveyance to a mainland hospital.
The helicopter is expected to take off in the next few minutes.
UPDATE @ 16:05 – The helicopter has taken off and is en-route to Southampton General Hospital, bringing the incident to a close.
