A man who broke into a corner shop in Wroxall and stole more than £180 worth of vapes, alcohol and cash, will learn his fate in March.
Daniel Skittlethorpe, 34, of Union Road in Ryde, admitted burglary other than dwelling, assault of an emergency worker and 3 counts of criminal damage when he appeared at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court last week (16th January).
As first reported by Island Echo, in the early hours of 11th December, Skittlethorpe broke into Central Stores in Wroxall, using a rock to smash a window. Splatters of blood were seen on the floor of the shop where Skittlethorpe had caught himself on shards of broken glass.
Once inside, the 34-year-old stole alcohol, 3 vapes and £104 in cash. The goods stolen totalled around £184.96.
In the hours following the break-in, a Police cordon was erected around the crime scene and detectives from Newport CID were called in to examine the crime scene.
Skittlethorpe was arrested the following day and soon charged.
The case has been adjourned until 20th March 2026 for a pre-sentence report to be compiled.

In the good old days justice would have
been served, nowdays nothing is done
the police are wasting their time catching
villains due to the powers that be let them go
free to cause more harm.
