Cowes RNLI lifeboat went to the aid of a lone sailor on a grounded 32ft yacht on the Hampshire shore in the early hours of this morning (Friday).
The yacht had gone aground at the entrance of Beaulieu River and there was a concern it might remain there for some time because of a receding tide.
Having launched at 02:00, the lifeboat began, 15 minutes later, to assist in the re-floating of the yacht.
The lifeboat then escorted the yacht to Newtown.
