Island Roads will once again be deploying its fleet of gritters as sub-zero temperatures continue to linger – with the first gritting run due to be carried out before the sun goes down this afternoon (Saturday).
It’s said that a full gritting run will commence from the Stag Lane depot at 15:00, due to the forecast temperatures for the remainder of today and overnight into Sunday.
A second, wet spot-only gritting run will then commence at 05:00 tomorrow morning.
Motorists are being advised to take additional care across the Isle of Wight road network.
To find a list of all the Island's gritting routes, you can visit our dedicated Isle of Wight Gritting Routes & Winter Maintenance page.

I wish Numpty motorists had the brains to realise
when roads are icy and slippery
DRIVE SLOWER, there are so many uneducated motorists on
the island.
