A 44-year-old Gosport man has been charged with a number of driving offences after failing to stop for Police in Sandford yesterday (Thursday).
Officers from the Joint Operations Unit went to pull over a Mercedes on Shanklin Road yesterday afternoon, but the driver failed to stop.
The vehicle was subsequently pulled over and the driver was arrested. A search of the car turned up a small amount of cannabis.
Craig Peta-Stuart, 44, of Melville Road in Gosport, has now been charged with driving without insurance, driving without a valid test certificate (MOT), driving without a licence, failing to stop for police and failing to provide a specimen for analysis.
He has been bailed to appear at Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court on 16th November.

Definitely well done to our local police. Luckily the stupid man didn’t injure anyone.
Perhaps the ferrys should have number plate recognition equipment on board, then the police could stop them when driving off the ferry..
Even better stop them as they board the ferry.

I bet he is quaking in his designer trainers now, awaiting the terrible punishment for the driving offence and the drug offence along with trying to evade the law.
He won’t sleep well…………will he?
