UPDATED: The main road through Upper Ventnor has been closed by Police tonight (Friday) due to a road traffic incident involving a bus.
Emergency services were called to the scene near Downlands Cresent shortly before 21:40 after a female was involved in a collision with a Southern Vectis Route 3 double decker bus.
Southern Vectis have confirmed the Route 3 due to depart Ventnor at 21:38 and return from Ryde at 22:55 will not operate.
Paramedics are currently attending to the casualty.
The road has been closed between Downlands Cresent and Cornwall Road. It is thought that access in and out of Ventnor is being maintained via the estate. Motorists are reminded that Leeson Road is closed for resurfacing.
UPDATE @ 22:45 – The road has now reopened in both directions.
The female casualty has been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital.
