Even more bundles of Class A drugs are thought to have washed up on the Island’s beaches and further along the South Coast, but the National Crime Agency is remaining tight-lipped about exactly how much cocaine they have recovered so far.
It was earlier this month that several large packages of high-purity cocaine washed up on beaches in the South and West Wight, with further packages found floating at sea.
A man in his 70s was arrested – and later released without charge – after finding a haul of coke on the beach near Atherfield, before taking 2 blocks home with him. He was 1 of 2 people seen removing the cocaine from the beach. The 2nd man is still in the wind, as exclusively reported by Island Echo, but Police say it is not a 57-year-old arrested for taking cocaine up to The Pepperpot.
Despite initially saying they thought they had recovered all of the cocaine, further packages washed up.
Now, it is understood that new packages have been located between Freshwater and Compton, and again in Worthing in the neighbouring county of West Sussex – although Police say they won’t give a ‘running commentary’ on the discoveries.
Island Echo understands that the overall amount of cocaine seized is in excess of half a tonne – which would make it worth hundreds of millions of pounds.
Each haul has been so substantial that Armed Police have been deployed to keep guard amid fears cartels or other serious criminal organisations could turn up for the stash.
We will never win the war on drugs, it’s failed throughout the world, dealers and smuggliers should receive instant punishment by being shot on site….No ifs or buts..
About time the police went after money launderers, they can’t affect production.

It seems a lot of that haul has already gone to the car drivers on the island, or do they not need any substances to drive the way they do? Just look at the almost daily instances of crashes, collisions to see how bad it is.
The guys who get caught smuggling and dealing this crap do so because of an IQ the same as their shoe size. The real movers and shakers are the gang leaders in London and Birmingham who are smuggling a lot more than a bit of Colombian marching powder. The leaders are protected by several degrees of separation from these idiots who are used as nothing more than mules and are replaced as easily as a roll of toilet paper when inevitably they get pinched. Take a look at the county lines drugs gangs and see what the Police are up against.

So what they found is worth hundreds of millions,yet police etc not searching for or looking very well as everything found so far being found by ordinary members of public!. Wonder how much also been found by dealers who lost it ?. Maybe hundreds of millions already been found and removed before Police even knew about.

Taking all this of the streets will not have any impact on the drug dealers so the people who find it should just cash in as am sure it all dose not make it to the police station as corruption is high in the isle of wight police

With the recent events I fully expect the price of cocaine to drop on the Island. And about time too. For way too long I have substituted the kids dinner for mediocre quality gear. Fed up with it. Heartbreaking to see your starving kids when they know you aren’t even getting a proper bang for your buck.
