A family and their 2 dogs have been forced from their home after a late-night fire ‘destroyed everything’.
Island Echo understands that the fire occurred shortly before midnight at an address in Fort Mews, Sandown
As a result of the blaze, a young family and their 2 pets have been placed into temporary accommodation.
In the hours after the fire, a friend of the family set up a GoFundMe page in a bid to help them get back on their feet. A goal of £800 has been set.
At this stage, the cause of the fire is unknown.
Anyone wishing to support the family can donate here.

Does no one take out insurance anymore!
Sad what happened, but how many persons who don’t
pay insurance spend huge amounts of money on booze,
cigarettes and Vapes!
Lesson for everyone take out insurance, it is not expensive!
Huge assumptions there yet again that this young family smoke &drink?and if insurances were not so extortionate for young families because of fact shareholders perhaps they might!or your assuming they don’t have insurance?because of a gofundme we all know how insurance companies love to drag their feet over every dot and cross,so take your prejudice and shove it where the sun don’t shine!and hope the fall from your self appointed pedestal doesn’t break a hip you old fossil,!
They only drag their feet when people living on the bread line suddenly claim for diamond encrusted tiara’s. I had a claim that was settled in full within 28 days, as they are social housing they will be re homed while the place is re built.
Stop making excuses, take out insurance, no excuses.
Why don’t you pay the £800 then
smart a@se!
Omg poor family that looks awful luckily no one was hurt? lets all donate even £1 from each of the islanders?
Go on then.
Why are you always so judgmental it’s not good for your health lighten up? How do you know they didn’t have house insurance don’t presume anything unless you know the truth you silly little person.
gofundme set up before the last wisps of smoke have subsided. jeez talk about priorities
guess no insurance – why should other people be expected to pay for their lack of insurance
It’s called compassion, Google it tight arse.
Are you coughing up the £800?
I’ve donated yes. Let me explain how crowdfunding works, as you are clearly ignorant, people are asked to donate. They aren’t forced. If they wish to donate that’s their business. If they don’t that’s also their business. Dimwits like you who seek to demean this form of fundraising miss the point entirely. Go complain about something else because this is none of your business. This poor family are in need of help. If you can’t or don’t want to good on you, no need to create an atmosphere of misguided views is there?
Not a nice thing to say you me or anybody else do not know their circumstances give them a break
Omg have some compassion they have lost everything, with or without insurance that process is way too long they need help now! I hope it never happens to you, you miserable excuse for a human being, You aren’t expected to help it’s for people who actually care and have compassion, that certainly isn’t you So go back to your miserable life!!
You are spot on.
Gofundme should stop this kind of scam, get house insurance.
Nowdays people expect other persons to pay their bills
for them.
What scam are you talking about?
Gofundme? I’ve never heard of that insurance company, is it any good?
I think it’s on Go Compare!
Lol
