A multi-vehicle crash which has seen a car come to rest on its side is blocking Forest Road on the outskirts of Newport this afternoon (Tuesday).
The incident has occurred near Forest View Nursery and has seen a Peugeot van and a Range Rover collide. The force of the impact has seen the Range Rover roll onto its side on a verge at the side of the road.
Paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service are on scene, with officers from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary also present.
It is unclear at this stage as to how exactly the road traffic collision occurred.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
UPDATE @ 15:45 – Island Echo can confirm that the smash was damage only and that no injuries have been sustained. All resources from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service have since stood down.
UPDATE @ 15:50 – Forest Road has reopened to traffic heading out of Newport. All traffic heading into Newport is currently being diverted via Gunville Road.
