In the last 12 hours approximately 20mm of rain has fallen on already saturated land, leading to the possibility of out of bank and road flooding through the Eastern Yar valley. Impacts will be seen in the upper reaches at Arreton, Alverstone and Langbridge.

At Alverstone the river level is not expected to peak until later this evening. A heavy rainfall alert is in place until 21:00, although the majority of rain seems to have passed over.
