The Cowes Floating Bridge will be suspended between 09:00 and 17:00 next Friday (28th November) to allow for an interim Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) inspection to take place.
The inspection is being carried out ahead of the vessel’s next scheduled annual assessment, which will fall during the next phase of the Horsebridge Hill roadworks in early 2026.
To avoid disruption during that period, the MCA has agreed to complete an interim inspection now, ensuring the vessel’s certification remains valid through the roadworks.
A number of maintenance tasks will also be carried out while the service is suspended.
A launch service will operate for foot passengers and cyclists during the suspension.

Suspended, lol. I didn’t know it was in service.
Please condemn it take it out of its misery..
I agree, being the Royal Navy are not busy protecting our
borders, they could at least put the floating bridge
