Isle of Wight rock band Five Degrees North have announced their latest single ahead of a headline show in Newport and an appearance on the Isle of Wight Festival main stage later this month.
‘Julie Anne’ will be released tomorrow (Wednesday) and to celebrate, the trio will take to the stage at Newport’s Strings Bar and Venue.
The single is about someone who can’t get their mind off a girl they previously loved. Accompanying the band are Carys Morgan and Faith Jones, who supply backing vocals.
The band added the song, which took months to perfect, and gets more and more unhinged, matching the character’s state of mind.
Speaking about the single, the band said:
“This track focuses on a darker topic and is very personal to us.”
In April, Five Degrees North were crowned the winners of the annual Wight Noize competition, meaning they will perform on the main stage at the Isle of Wight Festival.
You can catch the band perform at 11:55 on Saturday 21st June. They will also perform in the Kashmir Cafe over the festival weekend.
