Bembridge RNLI’s All Weather Lifeboat launched to assist a 25ft fishing boat after her engine failed in the vicinity of the Nab Tower earlier this afternoon (Monday).
RNLB Alfred Albert Williams was launched at 14:15 at the request of Solent Coastguard to assist a vessel from Langstone Harbour with 4 people onboard.
The fishing boat had broken down in the vicinity of the Nab Tower. Visibility was good, the wind was F3 from the SSEast and the sea conditions were slight.
The Tamar-class lifeboat reached the casualty vessel at 14:30 and having ascertained that the outboard engine could not be repaired in situ, set up a tow to Langstone Harbour.
After safely securing the boat alongside the Hayling Ferry pontoon at around 16:00, the Alfred Albert Williams then returned to Bembridge and was recovered by 16:30.
