Firefighters from Freshwater and Ventnor are tackling a vehicle fire in a car park off Military Road this evening (Wednesday).
It was just before 17:00 that Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service was alerted to the incident between Compton and Military Road.
Island Echo is told that the fire involves a van, which is fully ablaze.
Due to the remote nature of the blaze, with no access to mains water, the Water Carrier from Ventnor has mobilised to the incident.
