The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service have attended The Star Inn in Wroxall this afternoon (Thursday) following reports of a carbon dioxide gas leak.
Crews from Shanklin and Ryde – plus the Rescue Tender from Newport – were called to the scene on the main through road to Ventnor at around 15:10.
The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service were also mobilised to the incident and have treated 1 woman with oxygen, although she has not been conveyed to hospital. A total of 2 adults and 4 children were evacuated from the property.
The alert is believed to be as a result of a leak in the lines used to carbonise drinks.
Crews have now stood down but engineers from SGN remain in attendance.
The road is open in both directions.
