The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were mobilised to reports of a fire at a property in Newport tonight (Wednesday) – an hour before the second national lockdown comes into place.
Firefighters from 2 stations responded to an address on Bluebell Meadows, Pan.
2 appliances from Newport Fire Station – a Wholetime and Retained crew- along with a retained crew from Cowes were called to the residential property shortly after 23:00.
However, crews were quickly stood down as it was discovered the fire was out upon arrival of the emergency services.
Firefighters have now returned to their home stations.

Strange how the Fireman didn’t leave untill 12.50AM for a fire that was already put out on arrival at 11PM. It was my drunk neighbour that called them to her flat.
Maybe they had to damp her down thoroughly.
