2 appliances from Newport have been mobilised to Mill Hill Road following reports of smoke coming from the residential address.
It has been confirmed that firefighters are tackling a chimney fire.
The situation is under control and crews are using specialist equipment to tackle the fire.
The incident began at around 16:00.
