The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service have been mobilised to reports of a fire in East Cowes this afternoon (Monday).
Multiple crews from Newport and East Cowes are responding to Millfield Avenue in the town.
A member of public spotted a large fire from The Parade in Cowes and raised the alert.
UPDATE @ 12:45 – Fire crews are now standing down from the incident, which is a false alarm with good intent.
It appears the orange glow – mistaken as being flames – is in fact powerful lights, thought to be in relation to filming for The Beast Must Die.

Steam from a ‘T’ urn. Let’s hope sirens, and blue lights were in the script. Only on the Isle of Wight.
