UPDATED: Two appliances from the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service are attending a road traffic collision involving a motorcyclist on the main road into Yarmouth at Bouldnor this morning (Monday).
Emergency services were alerted to the incident on the A3054 at just before 09:00. Fire crews from Yarmouth and Newport are in attendance alongside several paramedics and Police.
The road is partially blocked and traffic is heavy in the area. Motorists are advised to find an alternative route.
UPDATE @ 09:30 – Firefighters from Newport have been stood down from the incident, however a retained crew from Yarmouth remain on scene.
Island Echo readers are reporting that a motorcycle has sustained heavy damage in the collision, which is believed to also involve a small black car.
A male motorcyclist has been injured and is currently being attended to by paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.
