The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service and HM Coastguard responded to reports of a suspected boat fire in Cowes this afternoon (Friday).
2 retained fire appliances from Cowes and Newport were turned out at 12:24 to Trinity Landing, where a 45ft vessel had been brought alongside with a suspected fire on board.
The Needles Coastguard Rescue Team were also mobilised to the scene on The Parade due to the maritime nature of the incident.
A thermal imaging camera was used to check the engine space of the motor cruiser ‘Volante’, with a blown turbo found to be the cause.

A bottle of pop would have delt with the problem…or beer, wine, even urine….or perhaps sea water..
