A car has come to rest around 20ft off the carriageway as a result of a single vehicle road traffic collision on Beaper Shute between Ryde and Brading this evening (Thursday).
A small hatchback, believed to be a Ford Fiesta, has left the road and come to a stop in amongst woodland.
The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service has sent 1 ambulance crew to the scene with paramedics currently checking over the occupants.
Police are not present.
The road remains open in both directions but motorists should take care.

Drugs, drink, or just chavs from Mc D’s, hurrying back one would ‘guess’
Definitely McDonald’s
Just follow the trail of ‘launched’ Mc D’s boxes, cups, and bags, mind not had time to have eaten it unless ravenous.
Could be an elderly driver, or someone avoiding a Fox, guess we will never know but likely Chad’s right.
Plenty more when P enny F eathers etc is filled with thousands more using this road.
Usual place for speeders to fly off that road.
New dogging spot?
Ha ha
That’s torn it!
It could quite easily be an elderly person who has had a medical incident at the wheel please don’t jump to conclusions!
Looks like more bad hedges on the Isle of Wight to me
Why elderly? Young and middle-aged people can also experience medical incidents. Probably a teenager going too fast though.
Quite right, it could be. Of course the elderly having medical episodes happens so often on the Isle of Wight they ought not be allowed to drive at all. If you can’t see, can hardly walk, and can’t remember what you had for breakfast on any given day you should not be allowed behind the wheel. So what you can remember whole scripts of ITMA and your twelve times table is pretty good after a few Sonatogen…. I gave up my licence when I realised I was past it. Sorry for that dog, but at least it wasn’t a person. Shook me up….

Looks like it slid a little, hardly news worthy
This is a sick unnecessary comment pray to god you are never involved in an accident or are you perfect
Fie hedge sta. driver crashes wow what a surprise
The driver trying hit a gray squirrel
We do not have GREY squirrels on the island. And by the way, your comment is sick. Not the American version of sick either!!!!!!!
Course we do fella..there is loads get out n look
Coming from an American, we use “sick” in that way as well.
Hope it was not due to a medical episode, whatever the drivers age. If the driver was speeding, serves yourself right!!!
I thought we were in lockdown, roadside checks needed by police, traffic was a joke yesterday, rules used and abused again
So how do you know that
Yes but still allowed out to get a takeaway and they open till 10pm.
Do you know, Ron, I’m sure that car you sold me had a pink hue to it. 😉
I drive a Fiesta, and am not a ‘ girly’ It is a great car, plus it has never gone after a hedge or tree, nor any other vehicles. Its been very loyal ! This new item is about another brilliant Island driver..
Another islander who can’t drive

The arm chair drivers are off again
Cannot understand why my message regarding must be a female driver as only women drive fiestas was deleted. No free speech anymore
