A much-loved Newchurch plant nursery is to close at the end of November as proprietors Christine and John Morey announce their retirement after 25 years.
Ager Farm Nursery, founded in 2005 on Harbors Lake Lane, has become a go-to for garden lovers across the Isle of Wight, known for quality plants, expert advice and a friendly welcome. The family-run business has supplied everything from summer bedding and hanging baskets to its popular Christmas wreaths.
In a message of thanks to customers, suppliers and friends, the Moreys paid special tribute to their daughter, Dominique, whose commitment over the last decade has been indispensable in keeping the nursery running.
Christine Morey said:
“It has been our privilege to serve our wonderful Island community, and we are truly grateful for the friendships, shared stories and memories along the way. Retiring and closing the nursery was not an easy choice, but we believe the time has finally come for us to enjoy a well-deserved break.”
The final day at the nursery is on 30th November 2025 between 09:00 and 16:00. Clearance sales begin immediately, with everything in stock to be sold – customers are invited to pop in and enquire about offers while supplies last.
Ager Farm Nursery is located on Harbors Lake Lane, Newchurch (PO36 0LY).
