A young woman from the Isle of Wight has achieved a significant milestone in the world of pageantry by being crowned International Junior Miss United Kingdom, following 4 years of hard work, determination and dedication.
Emily Radford, who has previously held the title of Miss Isle of Wight, will now go on to represent the United Kingdom on the international stage in Florida.
The 2024 title marks the latest in a series of successes for the aspiring pageant queen, who was previously recognised as a grand finalist in Miss Teen Great Britain in 2020 and took part in an international competition in 2022. In 2024, she also undertook a skydive to raise money for Young Epilepsy – a charity she continues to champion.
Emily has said:
“This title represents more than just a crown – it’s the result of years spent building confidence, developing my voice, and working toward a dream.
“Throughout my journey, I’ve remained passionate about giving back, especially to Young Epilepsy, a charity close to my heart. One of my proudest moments was completing a skydive to raise money and awareness for this important cause.”
Emily is now preparing for her next big challenge as she heads to Florida to compete internationally, where she hopes to inspire others through her story and achievements.
She adds:
“I hope to show young people everywhere that with determination, kindness, and purpose, you can achieve anything you set your heart on.”
Island Echo has followed Emily’s journey closely over the years, highlighting her continued commitment to personal growth, community service and representing the Isle of Wight on a national and international level.
