Police, fire and paramedics have been called to Ryde this morning (Friday) where a Nissan has collided with a wall.
Emergency service personnel were first called to St Thomas’ Street at the junction with Spencer Road at around 09:45.
At the scene a grey Nissan Qashqai, the driver attempting to turn into Spencer Road, has collided with a wall leaving the vehicle with significant front end damage.
Firefighters from Ryde and paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service tended to the casualty who was able to self-extricate from the vehicle.
Several emergency service vehicles have since stood down from the incident.
The road is open in both directions but motorists are advised to take care when approaching from Spencer Road.
Such was the impact of the smash, the wall outside the block of flats has been completely destroyed.

More dreadful driving on the isle at least off road for a while.
This one failed in the parking the car on it’s roof stakes
There is no Law and Order on Island Roads
Everytime you drive along Beaper Shute there are
always T W A T S speeding and overtaking other vehicles
who are driving within the law.
I would like to see Police patrol 24/7 along
Beaper Shute in an unmarked vehicle
They would catch loads of lawless Numpty’s.
Lock them up and throw away the key.
