The Island’s MP has received confirmation that East Cowes will NOT lose its fire station. The station was suddenly closed on 9th May following the results of a building condition report which deemed the building unsafe to use, as previously reported by Island Echo. The crew were told to immediately vacate the building and the appliances were moved to Newport and Ryde fire stations. In the wake of the closure, which has prompted concerns about what the future may hold, Bob Seely MP met with Chief Fire Officer Neil Odin and Councillor Karen Lucioni, who sits on the Fire Authority, to discuss the next steps. Mr Seely said:
“I spoke with our Chief Fire officer and Cllr Karen Lucioni last week after claims that East Cowes fire station might be permanently shut. I want to reassure residents that that is not the case. “The current situation is a temporary one. The Fire Authority is actively looking at the options to rebuild the station on its current site. It is also looking to temporarily relocate it elsewhere in the town. “Thank you to Cllr Karen Lucioni, for her work. We now need everyone to work together – the Fire Authority, the Isle of Wight Council, local councils and the community – to make sure East Cowes gets a new fire station as quickly as possible. “I will remain in regular contact with the Fire Authority and I’ll be working with Cllr Lucioni and other Councillors to make sure the rebuild happens as quickly as possible. “I’ll also be keeping residents up to date with what’s happening.”

Nice one Bob, vote Reform or watch your dna be ruined within a few short generations.
What? You have to be kidding right? Stop reading Mein Kampf and stop listening to the Maga crowed.
So Bob rang up the fire service and asked if the East Cowes station was closing and they said no. And he gets a big write up for picking up a phone. Go away you bone idle clown.
Hero Bob. Saviour of East Cowes now that an election has been called. Expect even more pop ups in the coming weeks.
Not a problem Labour will close it down.
Why would they do that? Labour are not the party with a record of decimateing public services
strange, because I clearly remember Alistair Darling cutting12bn in 4 years from the public sector under the unelected Gordon Brown, what a short memory you must have!
So funny that Bob is so active on things that concern people – knowing a General Election is looming!
Why is it now he reacts and yet has been silent on Yarmouth and Bembridge being closed for last couple of years?
Hypocrite. Vile Tory! How dare he use this to try and gain votes!!
Does Bob understand the purpose of an MP ? To carry his constituents’ views on national issues to Parliament and to represent them on a national level. I’m so confused by his behaviour, it’s very odd.
Hahaha
This fool just dont stop posing for pointless pics does he ! Your out mush
Shouldn’t the fire authority tell us their plans rather than through our MP?
who cares half a sausage Bob! Vote Reform!
It’s already lost it!!!
New job on 5th of July bob McDonald’s are taking on
The job of an MP is dealing with the concerns of his constituents. Clearly the people of East Cowes had expressed concerns. So he’s done his job. As for Labour, people may recall Labour didn’t even know where the Isle of Wight even was. Voting Reform is a vote for Labour.
And voting tory,is a vote for more misery, lies, bullshit, and the islamification of the uk,and no NHS.
The UK public elects Members of Parliament (MPs) to represent their interests and concerns in the House of Commons. MPs consider and can propose new laws as well as raising issues that matter to you in the House. This includes asking government ministers questions about current issues including those which affect local constituents.
Only one reason the fire stations is in such a mess, Tory cuts. Welcome to tory Brittan where the police are told not to arrest people and the fire service can’t afford to fix their buildings.
BRITAIN please
Bob knows best. NOT.
But the isle of wight will lose it’s useless tory MP on July 4th/5th. Bye bye and good riddance bob.
The precept goes up every year, yet they still fail to maintain their buildings. Just what are we paying for? A Diversity and Inclusion Officer, perhaps?
