A 28-year-old man was arrested after Police carried out a drugs search at a property in Ryde yesterday lunchtime (Saturday).
Officers conducted a sweep of an address on West Street where a quantity of suspected illegal drugs were discovered.
It followed a stop and search on a Peugeot 206 in the same area during which a 33-year-old man from Newport and a 34-year-old woman from East Cowes were arrested on suspicion of being involved in the supply of drugs.
All 3 people have since been released under investigation whilst Hampshire Constabulary conduct further enquiries.
According to Police, a number of ‘other items’ were also seized.

All drug dealers, all released. There was a time drug pushers automatically received a custodial sentence. Seems normal now to let these ‘types’ go under investigation……
Probably far too many to fit into the prisons.
On the island, it’s not what you know, it’s who you know,
Alas the cps or if they get to court the sentence is a joke , the police do an amazing job catching the scum and they get a rap on the knuckles no different to line’s at school no real deterrent .
Bigger fines and longer sentences needed .
The war against drugs has failed that’s why. Live and let live
Strikes me that it’s one of two things on the island, cars on their roofs or drug dealers being arrested and sometimes a combination of both!
Cars on their roof due to drink or drug driving. Drug dealers being arrested then released…..the Police do a fantastic job then the system allows these low life to be released and to continue selling the rubbish they were arrested for in the first place! In my opinion, society is well and truly broken. Why do so many people have to buy drugs? They must be REALLY boring people if they can’t function or have a good time without putting some sort of rubbish in their bodies.
