A 35-year-old man from Sandown has been arrested on suspicion of failing to provide after crashing a car into the middle of Racecourse Roundabout at Whippingham during the early hours of this morning (Saturday).
Police came across a blue Vauxhall Zafira in the middle of the roundabout at around 00:30.
It appears the Zafira had been travelling along Racecourse with the driver failing to successfully negotiate the roundabout, continuing straight on – colliding with a road sign and then a small tree.
No other vehicles were involved and no injuries sustained.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary says a 35-year-old man from Sandown has been arrested on suspicion of failing to provide a specimen for analysis.
The crashed Vauxhall remains in situ on the roundabout but has been marked as ‘police aware’.
Those “POLICE AWARE” stickers are about as much use as a water resistant sponge. It took 3 years for a van to be removed on the bus stop at Harding Road. Now got a red Audi that has been sat opposite at the bus stop with those stickers for the last 5 months.
like the b max down middle road that’s been there a year in the ditch
The island is a vehicle grave yard.
There is a video on YouTube and it shows
many vehicles dumped under undergrowth in
Wroxall.
No one removes dumped vehicles on the
Island.
Another blot on the Landscape.
It’s 2025 and IW Council still don’t own a fleet
of Tow trucks.
These vehicles should be towed away and crushed,
also any vehicle parking illegally on Double Yellow Lines
or parking on Pavements blocking access to Pedestrians
need towing away and crushing
NO EXCUSES
1 less Numpty on our roads, well done
for making our roads a safer place.
Failing to provide can only = one thing.
At least another wanker off the roads..for now.
Many more that need removing.
