Police are looking to identify a dog owner in connection with an attack on a passerby in the Shide area of Newport.
It was on 7th February, between 16:00 and 16:30, that a dog walker was using the public footpath between National Tyres and Matalan when he was approached by a dog unknown to him.
The animal attacked, biting the innocent passerby on his left leg, leaving a laceration.
Despite efforts by the victim to call the owner of the other dog over, the owner did not stop to speak to him.
The dog was described as possibly being a Rottweiler or similar breed.

It’s obviously not a Rottweiler type dog is it, it looks like skinny enough to be a whippet!
