A main road connecting Newport with Carisbrooke has been closed to allow for emergency water works by Southern Water this morning (Monday).
The closure, near the junction with Trafalgar Road, is set to be in place until the 25th August, or until the work is complete.
Motorists heading into Newport are diverted via Gunville and Forest Road.
The works are necessary to allow Southern Water to re-lay Comm Pipe and replace 2 Box Chambers.
