Police have seized a distinctive Range Rover after its driver failed to stop for Police in Newport yesterday afternoon (Wednesday).
Officers attempted the pull the vehicle at around 15:00 but the driver thought otherwise.
Islanders are now being asked to check their dashcam footage to see if they captured the vehicle in the Parkhurst or Gunville area of Newport at approximately 15:20.
The same Range Rover was seized at the start of the month for having no insurance.
Anyone who can assist Police with their enquires is asked to call 101 and quote reference 44200328447.

If this vehicle was seized at the start of the month, one presumes the owner coughed up the fines and bought insurance. If so, why was it being stopped again? If not, why was it handed back at all?
Distinct smell of fish around here.
If the driver had no insurance, why was the rangie not crushed or sold and monies raised put back into our police force? Obviously this individual thinks he is above the law and doesn’t need insurance. Another uninsured idiot on our roads. He’ll get caught again soon, the vehicle IS very distinctive.
Could be a female driver!!! You presume male straight away
It was a male driver last time… Chances are it’s the same guy
The money no longer goes to the police. It goes to the Treasury.
I thought that any vehicle without insurance was confiscated?
Oh the humble range rover once the backbone of british farming now its just an over priced pen*s extention or a fashion accessory for the middle classes and no before the jealousy comments start we owned a P38 and discovery many years ago and it was the biggest unreliable heap we’ve owned. The police should Crush the thing and make them watch as thier pride on joy is pulverised. Or sell is as proceeds of crime no second chances I think it will hurt them more.
Crush it and make him watch
Could be a female!!!!!!!!!!!
Man last time so assume he’s owner and same person
He May have sold that car after last time
That looks……. bloody horrible
It screams look at me, l’ve got a Range Rover but can’t afford the insurance, and no amount of money can buy you taste.
So the Police failed to stop this car for… what exactly? Even if I knew it’s location, I would be loath to identify myself as a snitch for no reason.
I thought you had to prove that you had insurance to get the car back.
More like a range pullover.one more k**b jockey bites the dust.
What a nasty, tacky looking piece of junk. You would instinctively give that a wide berth on the roads because rough cars and rough people invariably go together.
Spend less on the car and more on insurance. Simples! Much less trouble that way.
another grubby chav who thinks it’s rich because it drives a claped out range rover, we have too much of this scum on the island now.
I wonder what dragged it up, however, it will continue to reflect it’s behaviour on other until it’s to old to continue.
About time this C**t got stopped. Drives around Yarmouth like he owns the road. Overtaken me in a 30 while I was doing 30, no regard for other road users. I have dash cam evidence if police need more to revoke his license.
Contact 101 Marcus – they will let you know where to send it – all helps to take this idiot off the road
Article says the same car was pulled with no insurance at the beginning of the. Check the Echo’s latest court case update to see if it is mentioned…….
To get the car back once seized take out insurance say 500 quid a 10% deposit is just 50 quid once car is in your possession cancel policy a couple of days before the first payment. Rinse and repete till you get fed up.
Just put the insurance cost for every road user on the fuel, more you use the more you pay (it’s £10.00 a gallon say….) people will drive far more economical cars. I get just shy of 800 miles on a 60Ltr tank. £0 road tax and £450.00 A year on a business class vehicle insurance.
Problem with that is you are punishing law abiding people who work hard to purchase a nice car. People who flout the rules don’t care about any law you put forward to stop them. What is needed across the board is sentencing reform, stronger fines if you dont pay the fine you go to prison end of! You assault a member of the emergency service you know a prison sentence is mandatory. Its time to get tough on those who think the law doesn’t apply to them.
“800 miles on a 60Ltr tank”
I have serious doubt on that unless you drive a shopping trolley.
Article 61 of the Magna carta……..I do not consent, the powers that be really need to look back into their law books….?
Crush the car. Shame you can’t do the same to the driver.
Proof if it ever were needed that money cannot buy taste
The real crime being committed here is that tasteless paint job.
God what an ugly car, and twat driver, crush the horrible crap
The more interesting comments from earlier have all been deleted. Tut tut
Only one type of person drives a car like that with no insurance.
No excuses 2ND TIME AROUND , he has already broken the law with no insurance and now failing to stop for Police. Why will this driver never learn, he has a car many would like two own , but no sense of community responsibility, something is amiss.
This is a powerful and heavy killing machine in the wrong hands. He is clearly someone who thinks he is above the law, and is a risk taker – a lethal combination.
He will only learn with a very hefty fine, and a long and closely monitored driving ban.
Maybe we need legislation that limits the bhp of all cars driven for 3 years after the end of a ban to say 100bhp.
Driving a vehicle like this with no insurance and in a reckless manner is not acceptable. Someone could easily get maimed or killed.
WELL DONE POLICE YET AGAIN.
