Firefighters from Newport have dealt with a picnic bench fire in East Cowes this evening (Saturday).
1 appliance was mobilised by fire control to Victoria Grove in the town following reports that a piece of furniture was alight.
A hose reel jet was used to bring the situation – which is being treated as arson – under control.

So much for fire investigation. You can see where a portable bbq has been placed on the seat. Likely truth the scum who did such laughed and couldn’t care less, as is common place with charity kept upbringing.
Yet all it takes is for a concrete slab to be fitted in the centre of each table, and affixed with a metal edge and then IF any normal humans wish to bbq without ruining property they can.

Full of on benefit low life chavs. Take ALL play and park equipment away as the young will only grow up the same. Let the breeders supply their own play gear. Paid enough tax credit and child allowance and free rent and c tax.
Regardless of the type of person, this is still vandalism. Time the law was changed so that once the culprits are found, the parents are made to pay for the damage (or items taken away to the same value). But, in our softly softly approach to minor crimes, this is probably just a dream!!
How on earth would that change anything – parents have had to bring up kids with difficulties/anti social for years and your saying the answer is to make there life more difficult – what an idiotic response

Excuse me for being cynical but that is a pretty small fire, less than a square foot by the look of it. If the person who dialled 999 had picked up a bucket of water instead of their phone, it would have saved a considerable amount of time and money.
A waste of valuable resources, Our highly-skilled firefighters don’t need their time sqandered on this sort of nonsense.
