A mechanical issue aboard St Clare has resulted in delays of up to 2 hours on Wightlink’s Fishbourne to Portsmouth vehicle ferry service this afternoon (Thursday).
It is unclear as to the exact nature of the issue at this time, but the breakdown has meant that only St Faith is in service on the cross-Solent route.
Wightlink has apologised for the inconvenience caused.

More like 3 hour delays!! The irony, 3 boats on the route, 1 old, 2 relatively new, 1 small, 2 much bigger & which one is the only one still running, the smaller old one… absolute carnage at Portsmouth. But don’t worry, Wightlink are sorry???
Update. The floating bridge is buggered, neither ferry works and the directors of all three are in their counting house rubbing their hands with glee. Did I mention their counting houses are in the Bahamas/Isle of Man/Jersey/Cayman Islands? Re-nationalisation, anyone?
Now more like 5 hours, very little info. All in the boat (ha) but some people think their a little more important and entitled than others
It’s about time a bridge or Tunnel was built.
The Ferry Companies are taking the p*ss.
