Police are appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage following a serious head-on collision in Bembridge on New Year’s Eve.
As first reported by Island Echo, emergency services were called at around 19:40 on Tuesday (31st December) to a collision between a modified black Renault Clio and a light blue Ford C-Max on Sandown Road, outside Bembridge Airport.
2 people suffered serious injuries and had to be extricated from each vehicle. They were conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital by land, with 1 of the drivers later airlifted to Southampton General Hospital by Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.
Their injuries are not life-threatening or life-changing, say Police.
Officers investigating the crash would now like to speak to anyone who witnessed this incident and anyone with relevant dash cam footage leading up to the impact.
