Thousands packed the streets of Ryde yesterday evening (Thursday) to enjoy the town’s main carnival procession, one of the most anticipated events in the Isle of Wight’s carnival calendar.
The colourful and energetic parade brought together a wide range of local groups, schools, performers and carnival troupes, all marching through the town in celebration of community spirit, creativity and tradition.
This year’s main carnival followed on from events in Sandown and East Cowes earlier in the week, forming part of the closing celebrations of the 2025 Isle of Wight carnival season.
Ryde Carnival, known as the oldest in the country, continues to celebrate more than 120 years of history with strong support from residents and visitors alike.
The final event of the season will be Ryde Illuminated Carnival, taking place this Saturday (30th August) from 20:30.
