A motorcyclist is starting the road to recovery after sustaining a serious leg injury in a crash involving 2 motorcycles in Newport yesterday evening (Friday).
Police and paramedics were deployed to Parkhurst Road – directly outside St Mary’s Hospital – at 19:41 in response to reports of a collision involving a pair of motorcycles on a section of dual carriageway.
One of the motorcyclists was conveyed the very short distance to hospital for emergency treatment to his leg.
As Police awaited an update from doctors, as to the severity of the situation, one lane of Parkhurst Road, including a bus stop, was closed off in case a more thorough forensic investigation of the crash scene was needed.
A spokesperson for Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has said:
“We were called at 7:41pm yesterday evening (Friday 3 April) to a report of a collision involving two motorcycles on Parkhurst Road in Newport.
“A man in his 20s was taken to hospital for treatment for serious, but not life-threatening, leg injuries”.
