The owner of a popular chip shop in Cowes has died following a fall outside the property at the start of the year.
53-year-old Mark Pritchard was rushed to St Mary’s Hospital on the afternoon of 2nd January after falling from scaffolding erected outside Chip Ahoy on Victoria Road. The business owner hit his head on the ground causing a fractured skull, among other injuries.
Mr Pritchard was later airlifted to Southampton General Hospital but sadly succumbed to his injuries on 22nd January.
An inquest has been open and adjourned until 22nd May.
