Police have cordoned off part of the bus station in Ryde following what has been described as an early hours ‘mass brawl’.
It was shortly before 01:00 that Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary deployed a significant number of officers to the Esplanade.
It’s here that individuals were reported to be involved in an element of public disorder near the junction with George Street.
Exact details of what ensued are unclear at this stage, but a cordon has been established around an area of the Interchange being treated as a potential crime scene.
Officers remain on a scene guard, with others making enquiries in the local area to establish the full circumstances of this morning’s incident.
UPDATE @ 09:43 – Police have confirmed that a 16-year-old boy has been arrested after a man was knocked unconscious.
