UPDATED: Police and HM Coastguard are conducting a search of Culver Down this afternoon (Monday) over concerns for the welfare of a teenager.
Multiple units are on the scene and are sweeping clifftops and nearby open fields.
Bembridge RNLI’s D-class Lifeboat is searching the coast below.
UPDATE @ 15:04 – Bembridge Coastguard Rescue Team are inspecting a section of cliff on the South of the Down overlooking Sandown.
Meanwhile WightSAR, the Island’s lowland search and rescue team, have been placed on standby.
UPDATE @ 15:14 – The teenage girl has been found safe and well by Police, who are now standing down the search.
Coastguard Teams from Bembridge and Ventnor are returning to Station.
