Compton Bay on the Isle of Wight has been revealed as a Top 10 spot for stargazing.
Science Expert Dr Jenifer Milard has been working with British company Land Rover to reveal the UK’s 10 best places for stargazing that’ll leave you, over the moon!
Largely devoid of light pollution to the south, with nothing but the English Channel ahead, Compton Bay allows stargazing of Orion, The Plough and Cassiopeia, all with the naked eye.
Compton sits alongside top locations in Norfolk, Northumberland, Somerset, Wales, North Yorkshire, , Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Stargazers should allow 30 minutes for eyes to become ‘dark adapted’, avoiding exposure to a white light like torches and phone screens. Instead, use red light torches and stargazing maps.
